Rich comes with over 20 years of experience serving the HIV community. Born and raised in Chicago, he started out as a pharmacy technician when he discovered the call to be a pharmacist. Pharmacy school was not only a way to build a career but also an opportunity to explore a different part of the country. Having studied at the University of California – San Francisco, Rich was fortunate enough to split his training between San Francisco and Los Angeles. This gave him a good understanding of the pharmacy landscape across California. Advanced practice experiences at the Venice Family Clinic, Kaiser administration and ambulatory HIV care, and Veterans Affairs West Los Angeles were his initial footsteps in primary care. Right before coming to APLA Health, Rich ran a thriving Walgreens specialty pharmacy in West Hollywood that centered on caring for the HIV community. He now oversees pharmacy operations at APLA Health, which include the APLA Health Pharmacy, contract pharmacy relationships, and clinic pharmacy operations.
Rich is very passionate about patients having the ideal pharmacy experience. Patients should be able to get all their medication needs from one spot, have a pharmacist available to speak to them whenever they need one, and feel comfortable enough to just say hello or tell the staff whatever is going on in their lives.
