Donor-Advised Funds

A donor-advised fund is a charitable investment account that you set up and deposit assets into at a sponsoring organization. You direct how the funds are invested and which charitable organizations—like APLA Health—to support.

When you make your irrevocable contribution of cash, securities or other assets to a donor-advised fund, you are generally eligible to take an immediate tax deduction. Then those funds are invested as you like and can grow tax-free until you’re ready to recommend a grant to APLA Health or virtually any IRS-qualified public charity.

Membership Giving

Want to make a bigger impact? Leadership Circle members are dedicated philanthropic individuals who contribute $1,200 ($100 per month) or more, and their support is critical to the future of APLA Health. Donate Your Old Vehicle

Is an old car, truck or boat taking up space in your garage? Consider donating your vehicle (whether it still runs or not) to support us. Riteway Car Donations will tow away your donation free of charge, you’ll get a tax deduction, and proceeds from the sale of the vehicle will benefit APLA Health services.

Employee Giving

Many workplaces offer the opportunity to make a donation to APLA Health. This can be done through the simple process of a tax-deductible payroll deduction, by specifying APLA in your company’s Combined Federal Campaign and United Way, or even through an employer-funded volunteer grant. Some employers will even include a matching gift!

Matching Gifts

Matching gift programs are a great way to get your employer involved with the work we do. Many companies will match your contribution dollar for dollar, and some will double or even triple a donation’s value.

APLA Health will receive a portion of your total purchase—at no cost to you! Remember, though, that when you give directly to APLA Health, we receive 100% of your gift.

Supporting APLA Health is as easy as swiping your Ralphs Club Card! Simply sign up for the Ralphs Community Contribution Program and designate APLA Health (agency number YX682) as your charity of choice. Then, each time you shop, a portion of your total bill will benefit APLA Health programs and services at no extra cost to you.

IRA Contributions

Your IRA can provide a tax-smart way to make an impact with APLA Health now. The Qualified Charitable Distribution or QCD (sometimes called an “IRA Charitable Rollover”) is a great way to make a tax-free gift now to APLA Health and satisfy your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), too.

How Do I Qualify?

You must be 70½ years or older at the time of the gift.

Gifts must go directly from your IRA to APLA Health.

Gifts cannot exceed $111,000 per donor per year.

Benefits of a Qualified Charitable Distribution

If you don’t itemize your income tax deductions, a QCD offers all of the benefits of an itemized income tax charitable deduction.

If you are age 73 or older and must take a Required Minimum Distribution RMD, a QCD gift can satisfy your RMD without increasing your income taxes.

It is a wonderful way to create an immediate impact on APLA Health.

Wills and Trusts

Everyone should have a will in place, and many people choose to include APLA Health in their will as a way to care for others long into the future.
