NOLP Food Pantries & Nutrition

We can help you with food and other essentials so that you can focus on getting healthy and staying healthy.

APLA Health’s Vance North Necessities of Life Program (NOLP) is the nation’s largest network of food pantries for people with HIV.
Clients at our NOLP food pantries receive pre-bagged groceries that include fresh dairy, frozen meats, fresh produce, and an assortment of canned and dry goods that cover 100% of weekly meals as well as hygiene items and cleaning supplies.

NOLP clients also receive bilingual, one-on-one nutritional counseling and nutrition classes. Fact sheets about a range of nutrition topics and recipes for use with NOLP products are available in all NOLP locations.

Free bagged mulch and compost are available, while supplies last, for residential use. At Griffith Park and Lopez Canyon, we offer free compost and mulch in bulk; you may bring your own shovel and container to take as much as you need for your residential gardening project.

Kitchenless Meal Bags

The Vance North Necessities of Life Program is now offering kits with ready to eat items for clients who are unhoused or cannot properly store or refrigerate their pantry groceries. For more information on how to receive your meal bag, please call or text 213.201.1433 or 213.201.1477.
