Brenda Alvarez is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Brenda received her Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from California State University, Long Beach, and her Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology with a minor in Sociology from the University of California, San Diego.
Brenda is a bilingual, Mexican immigrant passionate about community health, healing justice, and collective liberation. Having worked in different positions throughout different healthcare settings that serve historically underserved populations since 2015, Brenda approaches therapy through a holistic lens that pays attention to social, biological, spiritual, and psychological needs.
Brenda firmly believes in the importance of trauma-informed care and engages in therapeutic practices that promote a mind-body-soul connection. She has experience with career counseling and believes individuals thrive when doing what they love while in community with one another. Brenda is committed to providing a brave and safe space to be vulnerable with ourselves. She continues to expand her training and knowledge to help support individuals in their healing journey.
